This includes owning the monthly release calendar, and sprint planning for Android apps on the entertainment portfolio. This individual will work closely with internal and external stakeholders, other product managers, UX designers, and engineers to execute against the entertainment roadmap and develop features for the Android and Amazon Fire platforms. This role is focused on the Android platform, but this product manager role will also help with new feature development that will run across all platforms. This individual should be methodical and detail-oriented while also thinking critically and creatively about the larger picture. This individual will be self-motivated and enjoy working independently to collaborate with a wide variety of stakeholders across business functions.Responsibilities:

  • Learn the technology stack that power our entertainment apps, emphasizing needs for the Android platforms.
  • Establish working relationships with brand and business stakeholders across DMED Technology's entertainment and news team.
  • Learn DMED Technology's design system with a focus on UI for Android platforms.
  • Begin to understand requirements and contractual obligations for TV Everywhere authentication, DRM, and video advertising. Within six months, you will:
  • Learn the Disney Android ecosystem, including collaborating with external technology partners, Disney points of contact, and operational processes.
  • Offer product improvements and opportunities for the video advertising, TV everywhere, and entertainment portfolio at Disney to help drive the business forward.
  • Develop an understanding of the direct-to-consumer offerings at Disney, and the ways in which the entertainment apps can power their continued growth.
  • Have a point of view on which Android and Fire TV features or integration the entertainment apps should focus on next.
  • Monitor quality of service (QOS) and ad dashboards to identify issues.
  • Triage bugs for entertainment across Android scrum teams.
  • Begin to understand how compliance impacts the larger streaming ecosystem, including CCPA, GDPR, VPPA, and COPPA.
  • Lead the development of the entertainment products for Android, including new feature development, ongoing maintenance, and bug fixing.
  • Be seen as a product leader in the Android mobile and connected device space, having delivered high quality features that have had meaningful impact on the entertainment business.
  • Act as Product Owner for scrum teams.
  • Collaborate, partner and coordinate with cross-functional teams (engineering, design, marketing, product leadership, analytics, and business insight) to streamline system integrations and enhance existing business processes.
  • Keeps all teams on course to completion.
  • Translate strategy and product vision into project deliverables with achievable launch targets.
  • Create product requirements for new features and initiatives.
  • Interprets external in-depth consumer analytics and identifies innovative solutions.
  • Author, maintain and deliver technical documentation and other resources to internal and external partners.
  • Monitor and review the performance of video player and extended video player experiences using third-party analytics platforms including Adobe Analytics and Conviva.
  • Setup, update, and review dashboards.
  • Prepare data to understand performance and make related product decisions.
  • Prepare data to present to stakeholders.
  • Ideate, prepare, initiate research surrounding the video player and extended video player functionality.
  • Research may include focus groups, online or in-person usability testing, and A/B testing experiments.
  • Work with relevant stakeholders and teams to conduct testing.
Basic Qualification:
  • Experience with video streaming products, and a passion for TV and entertainment
  • Strong understanding and experience developing products for the Android and Amazon Fire mobile and connected device ecosystems
  • Understanding of IAB video ad requirements A minimum of 4 years of product management experience
  • Comfort working with analytics software and data visualization tools
  • Excellent communication skills, namely the ability to articulate complex technical ideas and plans effectively to non-technical audiences
  • Adept at writing user stories/journeys
  • Experience working in an agile environment
  • Strong presentation skills, particularly the ability to tell a story with data and research
