Description We are in search of a Project Accountant to join our team in Jacksonville, Florida. This role is pivotal in providing accounting and administrative support for our construction project from its initiation through to its completion. You will act as the intermediary between the jobsite and the finance department, ensuring all accounting standard operating procedures are adhered to at the jobsite. Responsibilities: Serve as the primary accounting and administrative support for a construction project Act as a liaison between the jobsite and the finance department Ensure all accounting standard operating procedures are followed at the jobsite Handle activities related to contracts, bonds, insurance, payables, liens, billings, payroll/cost/budget reports, and sustainability reporting for the jobsite management team Provide information to appropriate individuals regarding project status Ensure job cost reports and accounts receivable reports are accurate and in balance with the general ledger Classify all information in the project cost system and underlying supporting records to facilitate information usage Enter all financial paperwork into the accounting system to ensure timely and accurate job cost information Process all miscellaneous and blanket purchase order invoices in a timely manner and ensure supporting paperwork is attached, correct and approved Work with key individuals to process monthly billings to owners and run projected final cost report Process subcontractor monthly pay requisitions and ensure all supporting attachments are correct Follow up with subcontractors to obtain any missing documents so subcontractors are paid on time Maintain subcontractor/vendor purchasing register Verify all subcontractors have current insurance certificates Implement and maintain a filing system according to company guidelines Establish and maintain files required for company Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and Minority Business Entity (MBE) requirements Perform various administrative tasks for the jobsite. Requirements Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Project Accountant or similar role. Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) management. Demonstrable experience with Bank Reconciliations. Familiarity with General Ledger maintenance and Journal Entries processing. Proven experience with Month End Close procedures. Knowledge of Job Cost methods and practices. Proficiency in using Deltek software for accounting tasks. Experience with JD Edwards EnterpriseOne software for managing financial data. Ability to work in a team-oriented environment. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
