RN during surgical and other invasive procedures through the performance of specific duties under the direction of the Director/Manager.Service Line Coordination Responsibilities (when applicable):The expert practice of the Operating Room Service Line Coordinator is essential in ensuring safe patient outcomes, completion of the daily operating room schedule, and physician/ employee satisfaction.Responsibilities of Specialty Coordinator include, but are not limited to, the following as related to the surgical specialty:Maintains expert knowledge of service specialty (procedures, equipment, supplies, surgeon preference).
Establishes / Maintains direct, collaborative, working relationship with Specialty Surgeons.
Provides new hire orientation to service specialty.
Pursues continuing education regarding specialty procedures/supplies/equipment.
Provides continuing education regarding specialty procedures/supplies/equipment.
Maintains accurate preference cards.
Ensures specialty instrument sets are complete and maintained in good working condition.
Established collaborative relationships within Surgical Services (Supply Chain, OR Clinician, SPD) to meet the demands of continuously evolving services, procedures, equipment use, and instrument care
Licensed Registered Nurse in the state of Florida or Recognized Compact Licensure (subject to Florida State Licensing Requirements, including/not limited to ongoing eligibility and duration provisions).
American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Life Support Course (ALS or ACLS) and certification.
American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and certification required.
PALS required
AORN Certification preferred.
Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
Additional languages preferred
Basic Computer Knowledge
