The Risk Controls Officer is a seasoned professional role and is responsible for Records Management within Independent Risk, all stripes, globally. Responsible for Independent Risk’s Records Management strategy and implementation. Designs and disseminates internal frameworks, procedures, and processes, that are aligned to Citi policies and standards, as well as global data protection regulations. Works with Independent Risk teams/staff, all stripes, globally, to manage and maintain risk levels within the Firm's risk appetite and protect the franchise. Partners with the Global Records Management Office (GRMO) and Independent Risk Compliance Risk Management (ICRM) teams/staff to develop and implement new Records Management governance and oversight controls.Responsibilities:Participating in the design, development, delivery and maintenance of a best-in-class Records Management program, procedures, and practices for Independent Risk, all stripes, globally.

Analyzing comparative data and preparing regional and global reports related to Records Management compliance and risk assessments, and monitoring of Records Management related issues.

Reviewing materials to ensure compliance with various regulatory and legal requirements. Identifying and addressing potential risks.

Investigating and assisting in responses to Records Management risk issues. Investigating legal and regulatory inquiries, preparing required documentation, making recommendations to senior management on how to proceed, and preparing responses for the legal and regulatory inquiries.

Monitoring adherence to Citi’s Records Management policies/standards, and relevant procedures.

Preparing, editing, and maintaining Records Management program related materials.

Interacting and working with GRMO and ICRM, as well as other Business/Functions RMPLs and RMOs within Citi, as necessary.

Keeping abreast of legal and regulatory changes, and internal policy/standards changes, to identify new key risk areas and controls.

Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable Records Management laws, rules, and regulations, adhering to policy/standards, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:Experience in Records Management, compliance, legal or other control-related function in the banking/financial services sector.

Knowledge of Records Management policy/standards, Records Management typologies, rules, global data protection laws, regulations.

Experience in project management. Demonstrated capability to track and manage multiple deliverables.

Knowledge of GCR MCA Records Management EMP controls and monitoring tools. Citi Risk and Controls Continuous Monitoring.

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with global stakeholders and partners, at all levels of the organization; ability to navigate a complex organization.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Proficient in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Must be a self-starter, flexible, innovative, and adaptive.
