Join our team and help us keep communities connected.Your OpportunityThe Roadway Team Leader is key in maximizing the timely delivery and quality of deliverables while taking long-terms profitability of the local Business Center (BC) into account. The Roadway Leader is responsible for monitoring and reporting the techno-commercial position of all projects and proposals within a discipline. The objective is to support the leadership in growing the techno-commercial acumen of engineers, technicians, and designers. The Roadway Leader will act as a performance analyst and supports leadership in identifying and quantifying existing and potential technical risks to achieve effective and timely solutions.The ideal candidate will manage their own projects while providing oversight and guidance to other project managers within the roadway group. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills to ensure the successful execution of inspection processes and the growth and profitability of the team. Key responsibilities include leading and managing individual roadway projects, providing oversight and support to other project managers, driving the recruitment, development, and retention of top talent, overseeing the management and allocation of field assets, and developing strategies to enhance the profitability of the roadway group.The Team Leader will be responsible for leading the scope and integration of subconsultants and employees for their own projects, and to provide oversight for the relevant project managers to do the same. It is expected that the Team Leader will supports business development and the delivery of proposals.Your Key Responsibilities
Responsible for overseeing and coordinating the technical delivery of projects within their discipline and oversee transformational initiatives to ensure adherence to the required regulations and any other technical requirements.
Contribute to business strategies, identification, implementation, and control.
Implement and deliver on key strategic objectives.
Multi-stakeholder management, including government agencies, constructors, etc.
Makes decisions and recommendations without formal guidelines and precedents.
Exercises resourcefulness and ingenuity to interpret policy in situations where considerable variation or interpretation is possible.
Oversees the technical/construction/inspection delivery team and reviews/approve their utilization/assignment and their input/output to projects.
Actively engage in business development and manage key client relations.
Assist BC leadership with Business Development priorities and pursuits of the Team; assisting and reviewing proposals prepared by the Team, including an understanding of Team Gross Margin targets
Managing or providing directions for construction team to deliver projects within their discipline.
Coordinating a team of professionals to achieve an engaging business culture.
Assists the BC Operations Leader and Regional Business Leader in understanding the annual business plan for their group.
Manage the technical performance reports for the team.
Establish a culture in line with Stantec’s overall values and strategy.
Promote strong business discipline and monitor compliance with company risk policies on all projects.
People Management
Assist in resource management processes, recruitment, career development, coaching and mentoring.
Regularly reviewing the performance reviews, and provide coaching, mentoring and training/development based on direct reports needs.
Assist BC leadership in managing and maintaining overall Team morale, workload/work backlog targets, and utilization
QualificationsYour Capabilities and CredentialsRegistered in the State of Florida as a Professional Engineer (or if registered in another state, the ability to obtain registration in Florida within six months).Experience working with or for the Florida Department of Transportation is preferred.Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering or related field.
12 years of Transportation engineering experience.
