JOB SUMMARY: The Parks Technology team is focused on driving business and IT strategies to evolve and enhance the Guest and Team Member experience across Universal Parks and Resorts. This Team Member will play a critical role in assisting the Portfolio, Program, and Project team with all phases of the project creation and life cycle.

The Senior Business Analyst will be responsible to engage Team Members across all levels of the business. The Senior Business Analyst will be responsible to interpret and analyze the business needs. The Senior Business Analyst will document and edit the business requirements, create project specifications and business processes to then present those documented requirements that will represent the full scale of project requirements. This includes working in conjunction across multiple teams to ensure issues are identified, tracked, reported, then resolved in a timely manner; delivers informative, creates reporting and well-organized presentations; then understands how to communicate difficult and / or sensitive information tactfully and effectively across all levels of the organization. The Senior Business Analyst must proactively work quickly and efficiently to carry out all required tasks.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work closely with business partners to understand their business needs, system challenges, and opportunities in the context of the specific project detailed requirements.
  • Interpret, gather and define detailed business requirements to help resolve issues or plan for new changes and technologies. Find efficiencies and improvements to the business process. Develop Business Cases, Scope Documentation, Change Requests, Project Charter, Request for Information, Request for Proposal, Intake Requests and other specific project documentation.
  • Analyze and map business and technical processes (current state/future state). Produce high quality documentation and business process models, as a result of the discovery and evaluation process.
  • Create reporting and methods of tracking all aspects of work from the intake process through execution including communication back to our business partners.
  • Build relationships between all business partners by building trust and creating a credible partnership utilizing transparent communication.
  • Monitor the original requirements throughout the project life cycle and implementation to ensure that they are effectively delivered then accepted by our business partners.
  • Drive the desired business value-added results by aligning all technology needs and the overall priorities. Adhere to established IT policies and procedures including the Project Lifecycle Methodology.
  • When applicable, work closely with external partners and/or vendors to document and develop quality requirements for requested business solutions.
  • Coordinate and perform quality assurance testing as assigned. Create and execute test cases. Document test results.
  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree is preferred in MIS, IT or Business. Other: Knowledge of Business Process Mapping, Requirements Gathering, Project LCM.

EXPERIENCE: Minimum 5 Years: Experience preferred in IT Business Analysis; Business Process Mapping; Requirements Gathering; Project Management and Execution; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong experience with leading information gathering and brainstorming sessions for business requirements definition. Prefer experience in lean process improvement design; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret spreadsheets.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Excellent presentation, analytical, organizational, facilitation, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Prefer conflict resolution and problem-solving techniques.
  • Ability to think creatively and develop solutions beyond the boundaries of existing practices and client mindsets.
