DescriptionThe vision of the Retail Customer Segmentation team is to achieve simpler care (through an enhanced member experience), improve healthcare outcomes for our most vulnerable patient populations, and sustainable growth for our Medicare / Medicaid business. This small, high-performing team comprised of strategists, product managers, business intelligence leads, and clinical leaders realizes this vision by taking a member-centric approach to developing and executing strategies and to better serve the unique needs of underserved populations.The Retail Customer Segmentation Team is part of the Retail Strategy and Growth team and drives a differentiating value proposition within Humana's Retail business segment. With over 4.8 million Medicare Advantage members and, Retail is Humana's largest business segment and a leader in the Medicare space.ResponsibilitiesThis role will support the Retail Customer Segmentation team by contributing their expertise in data engineering to support our mission of serving historically underserved communities in the Medicare segment. The segment areas of focus include veterans, members on both Medicare and Medicaid, and the Hispanic, Chinese, and Korean communities. We measure membership demographics, member experience (service burden, NPS, member effort, etc.), and clinical outcomes across our segments in order to improve our service and support of members.Creates data pipelines to integrate data from internal and external sources
Structures team's internal data to ensure accuracy, reliability, and flexibility in reporting
Serves as an ambassador for our data and encourage its use in other business areas
Brings experience and expertise to bear in determining how we can solve hard business problems related to membership growth and member retention
Contributes to a small, cross-functional team including BI experts, retail strategists, Medicare product managers, and clinical leads
Reports data to executive leadership with confidence
Operates independently on medium- and long-term projects that intersect multiple areas of the business (i.e., strategy, marketing, contracting and provider relations, clinical, business analysis, finance, risk, and sales)

3+ years of technical experience in data analysis or engineering
2+ years of experience with BI data modeling skills
2+ years of SQL experience (T-SQL and/or PL-SQL) with both DDL and DML statements
Experience in developing and deploying automated BI reports/dashboards using a data visualization tool such as Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik
Understanding of BI data integration concepts with the ability to write and help manage complex scripts to stage and load data into databases and BI tools
Experience working with large, national level datasets
Understands how to integrate information and inputs from multiple business areas to create a unified dataset
Serve as a subject matter expert for our team's data, including leading integration efforts with other teams
Proficiency in verbal and written communication to senior and executive leadership
Preferred Qualifications1+ ETL experience
1+ years of SAS experience
1+ years of Azure DevOps and Databricks experience
1+ years of Python, R, or other statistical language experience
Experience with MS Power Platform (Power Apps and Power Automate)
Experience with database administration and optimization
Proficiency in understanding Healthcare related data and experience creating analytics solutions for various healthcare sectors
Development experience including; data modeling, scripting and data transformations, maintaining and developing data staging architecture.
Experience with predictive analytics (statistical/mathematical data analysis)
Advanced experience working with big and complex data sets within large organizations
Strong business consulting skills - Ability to understand business needs and translate to BI solutions.
Advanced Degree in a quantitative discipline, such as Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering or related field
