I/S provides the information technology required for all Publix business units including retail stores and all office and warehouse environments. The Publix I/S mission is to maximize the value of information technology to Publix associates and customers. The position interviewed for will depend on the skill set. Retail Desktop Engineering involves defining, developing, maintaining and advising on the effective use of the Publix Information technology architecture.

  • Bachelors Degree in computer science or an analytical discipline, or equivalent experience,
  • 2 years of experience supporting Windows systems and related infrastructure software and hardware in a medium to large environment,

  • in-depth Windows 10 support experience,
  • expertise with Microsoft SCCM, including creating and maintaining task sequences, applications, and operating system images,
  • experience in creating and managing group policy objects,

  • excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to relate to all levels of Publix associates,

  • 5 years of experience designing, planning, implementing, and supporting large releases,
  • experience securing diverse technologies, platforms, and applications,
  • in-depth experience managing and administering Windows 10 desktop operating system in a large environment,
  • strong working knowledge of PowerShell and automation technologies,
  • experience designing and managing Group Policy and Active Directory,
  • experience supporting desktop productivity software (Office 365, Adobe, Internet Explorer, Edge, Chrome, Etc.),
  • in-depth understanding of hardware such as desktops, printers, and peripherals,
  • experience supporting software, firmware, and drivers,
  • in-depth understanding of System Development Lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies,
  • ability to resolve complex business and technical issues by making sound decisions,
  • strong interpersonal and leadership skills including experience in organizing, planning and overseeing the work of teams,
  • strong teamwork and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of associates and management and thrive in a cross-functional environment,
