Job Profile Summary: CAI is hiring! We are in immediate need of a Senior Middleware Engineer. This is a contract to hire position. Candidates must be willing to go onsite 3-days per week in Miramar, Florida. Due to our end client, candidates must be able to work directly on CAI’s W2. The Senior Middleware Engineer is responsible for leading the design, development, operation, and maintenance of software and infrastructure related to Middleware Platform technology. This individual utilizes technical knowledgeable in both software and infrastructure necessary to define strategic direction on how to solve technical business problems by means of following a systematic troubleshooting methodology. This position employs software, infrastructure, and communication technologies to accomplish assignments. Duties and Responsibilities:- Monitor Production environments and work with various teams to resolve Mission Critical issues.
- Provide expert advice and consultation in Kubernetes, Tomcat, IBM WebSphere Application Server, messaging solution (message broker, MQ)
- Create SOPs for Middleware Operations for Optimum Infrastructure Solutions.
- Provide level 2 and 3 production support for Middleware components and applications
- Lead problem resolution and improvement efforts
- Drive constant interaction with application support, developers and other infrastructure teams.
- Enhance Middleware and Integration operating procedures and engineering patterns.
- Provide support for Global Scape (SFTP) Fresh Installation/Setup new data transfers on the Global Scape platform.
- Provide assistance with troubleshooting data exchange related issues.
- Suggest improvements to our data exchange environment to increase our availability reduce our failure rate.
- Ensure all transfers maintain proper levels of security by enabling secure protocols and encryption end to end.
QualificationsEducation/Experience- BS or MS in Computer Science or related degree from an accredited university
- Experience in Information Technology and mid-level relevant Middleware experience
- Good Administration skills on Kubernetes, Tomcat, WebSphere Application Server and WebLogic
- Experience with Web Servers e.g. Apache, IBM HTTP Server, IIS etc.
- Experience with at least one Messaging product e.g. WebSphere MQ, Active MQ etc.
- Experience with Integration Technologies e.g. IBM Datapower, Apigee
- Good scripting skills in Shell, Perl, Python etc.
- Experience in troubleshooting production issues and problem solving.
- Intermediate level of knowledge on Windows/UNIX/Linux OS.
- Experience with at least one ticketing tool e.g. ServiceNow, Viper, Jira etc.
- Should have ITIL standards exposure with respect to Change, Incident and Problem.
- Must have worked and supported complex distributed infrastructure involving Network, Load Balancers, Middleware, Storage, Databases etc. and should have the ability to drill down issues quickly.
Skills Required:- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to deal with different teams in the organization and external customers.
- Should be enthusiastic and have the urge to learn new technologies and accept challenges.
Physical Demands:- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state and local standards
- Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.
- Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard and monitor
