Our work depends on a Senior Systems/Data Analyst joining our team to support our customer activities in Washington, DC. This position is Remote.GDIT supports a system for HHS that collects data from a variety of sources. Data is uploaded directly into the system or entered directly into custom forms. This system also includes a complete case management system. We have hundreds of forms and dozens of data interfaces. There is also a complete data analysis subsystem that is based on Tableau for producing reports and doing analysis of the data.At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a Senior System/Data Analyst supporting our Customer, you will be trusted to work on Java software development using the Spring Framework. In this role, a typical day will include:Provide data analysis reports for Submitted data.

Provide data analysis on an ad hoc basis.

Assist in preparing documents for the data collection process.

Assist in preparing budget documentation based on the data collected.

Develop reports in Tableau Desktop for multiple divisions:

Work with the analysts to collect the requirements and business rules for the desired reports.

Write the SQL extract queries for the required data.

Implement the requirements using Tableau calculated fields, groups, sets and filters.

Design the implementation of the Tableau Server for ORR.

Administer the RADS Tableau Server including: creating Sites, Projects, Groups, Users, setting access permissions, publishing data sources and publishing workbooks.

Write SQL queries to extract data for new data analysis reports.

Extract data weekly for the various Tableau reports and publish the data to the Tableau Server.

Create documentation and presentations.

Provide ongoing training for data analysts and systems analysts on development of worksheets and dashboards in Tableau.

Assist data analysts with data preparation to create data sources for use in Tableau.

Work with Tableau technical support to troubleshoot issues on the Tableau Server and in Tableau Desktop.

Create governance processes and procedures.

Manage the Tableau user group and provide technical assistance to Tableau users.

Support data collection, analysis and visualization projects as needed, including data modeling, database creation, and technical support.

Required Education:BS/BA degree

Must be able to obtain Public Trust

Required Skills and Qualifications:Excellent analytical and writing skills - For this position this is our top priority.

Strong verbal communication skills

Requires BA/BS with at least 8 years of experience in database administration and data analysis

Expert user of Tableau, SQL, MS Office (Excel and Access)

Highly motivated and collaborative

Additional Desired Skills:Experience with the Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC) in a government agency
