Description We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in Jacksonville, Florida. The individual will play a key role in the financial operations of our organization, contributing to account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, bank reconciliations, and general ledger management. Responsibilities: Oversee and manage the month-end close process Generate and post journal entries, streamline uploads and recurring entries Ensure the accuracy and reliability of accounts receivable and revenue transactions Review contracts and grant agreements and bill accordingly Prepare and distribute customer invoices Safeguard the assets and resources of the organization Maintain records of transactions and file source documents Assist with the maintenance of payroll records, payable records, receivable records and sub-ledgers Respond to and resolve all internal and external inquiries in a timely manner Analyze trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments and obligations to predict future revenues and expenses Review daily cash activity and project expense estimates Support mission services with financial information related to grant requests Complete account reconciliations Supervise the Accounts Payable Specialist and Accounting Clerk and/or Staff Accountant Provide leadership, direction and management to all direct reports to support their ongoing development and productivity. Requirements Possession of a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience as an Accountant or in a similar role Proficiency in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, Bank Reconciliations Demonstrated experience with General Ledger and Journal Entries Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Excel Formulas Familiarity with Month End Close, Month-end Reports, Monthly Account Reconciliation, and Month-end Journal Entries Experience with NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, and Traverse CS - Client Server software Comprehensive knowledge of Accounting Entries and Accounting Operations Familiarity with Month-end Financials is a must Strong organizational and multitasking abilities Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Proven ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is required CPA certification will be considered a plus.
