Staff Accountant

Description Robert Half is looking for a Staff Accountant for a long-term opportunity. The Staff Accountant is responsible for preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, many aspects of internal reporting will be your responsibility. You will assist in developing and implementing accounting policies. In addition, you will take part in compliance, review schedules for the reporting processes, and interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits. A highly involved position, it works to produce Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting

Keep up fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation

Maintain capital lease and monthly payment schedules

Aid in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

Execute month end close, journal entries, with little supervision

Offer succinct analysis on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a clear and concise manner

Participate in various initiatives spanning multiple departments

Prepare complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll

Partake in annual closing processes

Ad-hoc tasks and special projects, as needed

Requirements - Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines

BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required

Extraordinary analytical, quantitative and social skills

Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases

Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity

Detailed and have the ability work independently

Spreadsheet and database capabilities

Comprehensive knowledge of bank reconciliations

Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision

Knowledgeable of ERP systems

Recent and relevant accounting experience
