Staff Accountant

This company, based in the Safety Harbor, Florida area, offers a challenging and multi-faceted opportunity where effort is rewarded. Candidates with the ability to to prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation and be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close will be preferred. If you want to participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules reporting processes, this role might be right for you. Those with a complex understanding of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets are preferred.Key responsibilities

Regularly maintain and reconcile journal entries

Manage schedules for monthly payments and capital lease

Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process, which includes monthly financial close workbook preparation

Impromptu reporting and special projects, when requested

Thorough experience with month end balance sheet account reconciliations

Assemble analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for management reporting

Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls while ensuring that accounting procedures comply with GAAP

Conduct month end close and compose journal entries with minimal supervision

Manage intercompany billings, transactions, and reconciliation

Partake in a variety of department-wide initiatives

Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data, and report it in a useful and understandable manner

Oversee depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation

Produce complex journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll

Strong analytical skills, with the ability to exercise good judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis

Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities

Recent and relevant accounting experience

Solid understanding of Microsoft Excel

High attention to detail

Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases

Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines

Proficient in ERP systems

BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

Spreadsheet and database capabilities
