BACKGROUND1. Maintain performance of the state data center by ensuring proper data backup, data backup recovery, disaster recovery, and appropriate security, power, cooling, fire suppression, and capacity.2. Develop and implement business continuity and disaster recovery plans, and annually conduct a live exercise of each plan.3. Offer, develop, and support the services and applications defined in service-level agreements executed with its customer entities.

SCOPE OF WORKThe Contractor shall provide the following service tasks for the unit in which they are augmenting over the course of the PO:1. Provides efficient and reliable storage allocation and defines backup, recovery, archival procedures.2. Develops and implements business continuity practices for storage management. Installs, configures, tests and implements storage management software and hardware.3. Monitors use and availability of storage resources.4. Maintains and modifies backup and recovery procedures to meet high availability and mission critical business needs.5. Troubleshoots storage related issues and takes appropriate actions.6. Generates reports and analysis on storage usage.7. Maintains storage configurations to provide capacity planning and performance monitoring/tuning of systems.8. Benchmarks, evaluates and makes recommendations for the selection of storage management software and hardware products.9. Possesses skills and knowledge related to network, operating systems, Storage Area Network (SAN), Network Attached Storage (NAS) and tape backup solution.

EquipmentThe Contractor shall provide the workstation used by the Consultant(s), including any required monitors and peripherals. The computer must, at a minimum, meet the following requirements:1. Must be compatible with Windows 10.2. Must have at least 16 GB RAM and a quad-core Intel CPU.3. Must have an internal hard drive of at least 500 GB (SSD preferred) that supports OPEL encryption.4. Must support simultaneous dual HD monitors and be supplied with a dual HD5. Must support TPM 1.2 or greater.6. The BIOS must be unlocked.7. All personal data must be removed from the computer in advance, as the machinewill be formatted and re-imaged per Department standards.8. Must be provided to the Department at least three (3) days in advance of the Consultant(s) reporting for work, with the matching power supply.9. Must be returned to the Department at PO term end to be formatted of all data and applications. Note: system will not be restored to its prior state. Contractor isresponsible for reloading operating systems and applications previously on the machine.10. The contract staff will be provided with a mobile phone.

Qualifications and ExperienceThe Department’s preferred Consultant Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities include:1. Ability to analyze and manipulate data, communicate clearly and effectively in writing and verbally, and troubleshoot hardware and software issues.2. Ability to work in a collaborative manner as a part of an organization team focused on exemplary customer service and quality service delivery, work independently, and work under pressure and with multiple deadlines.3. Ability to write administrative scripts to automate tasks.4. Attention to detail and consistency.5. Experience with backup tools and technologies.6. Extensive experience with Commvault Backup software up to at least version 11.7. Extensive experience administering Volume Managers, file systems, and Backup and Recovery software.8. Fundamental knowledge of firewalls, routers, switches, and networking technologies.9. Fundamental knowledge of system security best practices, data center operations, and enterprise-level multi-tenant systems.10. Fundamental knowledge of networking principles and protocols (OSI layers, TCPIP, subnetting, IPV4, IPV6).11. Knowledge of prevalent management tools and utilities applicable to the platform and services provided by the section, virtualization technologies, and security principles and best practices.12. Working knowledge of Windows and Open Systems operating systems and their access methods for storage and backup.

Education Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, Communication or other related field.
