Is accountable for coordination of departmental resources (human and material) such that the highest possible quality of Neurophysiology testing as defined by professional, departmental and organizational policy is achieved. Establishes policy and procedures for the department's internal operation and provides input in the development of clinical departmental services. Performs neurophysiological monitoring and electrodiagnostic procedures on patients in Mayo Clinic Jacksonville.QualificationsEducation: Bachelors degree preferred or Associate's degree from an accredited school of EEG/EMG Technology, or a successful completion of a traineeship with a minimum duration of one year.Experience: Two years Neurophysiology Department supervisory experience preferred. Three years of experience as an Electroneurodiagnostic Technologist performing one or more aspects of EEG, NCS, Autonomic Testing, Intra-operative monitoring or Evoked Potentials required. Must possess working knowledge of anatomy and physiology. Requires good human relation and interpersonal communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages, explain tests and provide a relaxing environment. Must be able to tolerate standing over 50% of the time, bending and kneeling routinely, working with arms above shoulder level, and lifting more than twenty-five pounds. Must exercise proper caution to avoid potential exposure to: Chemical vapors, heavy metals, ionizing radiation, laser, microwaves, infection hazard, skin contact with chemicals and work with immunosuppressed patients.Certification by the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists(ABRET) or American Association of Electrodiagnostic Techs (AAET) in one or more of the following: EP, EEG, Intraoperative Monitoring, or Long-Term Monitoring.
