The Work You Will Do : DEP’s Office of Technology and Information Services (OTIS) is currently recruiting for a Systems Project Consultant position . This position involves the analysis, design, and implementation of mission-critical information technology systems and applications for the Florida Department of Environmental Protection. The employee will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help support the development process and ensure that project deliverables are met according to specifications. The incumbent of this position will represent OTIS and must be helpful, cooperative, polite, respectful, and courteous at all times in the interactions with customers. Your Specific Responsibilities :

Specific duties and responsibilities include:

Supports the Department’s electronic document management system (EDMS) and processes. Serves as technical expert and advisor in the management of support requests for the Department’s EDMS. Conducts knowledge transfer from contracted system vendors and creates documentation for tasks related to document management support. Provides troubleshooting services and advises management as tasks require contracted support from system vendors. Advises and instructs document management system users and administrators on best practices in managing electronic documents including implementation of retention directives and policies.

Serve as a lead liaison to other program areas within the Agency, to assist with Electronic Forms Development consisting of all forms of communication, including the creation of supplementary documentation and presentations to convey the value of the subject matter. Responsible for running advanced queries (e.g., using SQL) to support customer requests, and serves as the primary point of contact for system upgrades.

As called upon, lead special initiatives. This may include taking on new role(s), responsibilities, and learning new skill sets to satisfy the assignment objectives and complete them on time. As needed, may be required to work non-standard hours to support system upgrades in a way that minimizes downtime and impact to users.

As called upon, contribute toward development or update of processes, standards, and/or operating procedures.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

Knowledge of generally accepted business principles, practices, and procedures.

Knowledge of techniques of computer system analysis and design.

Knowledge of structured analysis techniques.

Knowledge of SQL and other querying languages to provide database reports.

Ability to understand and apply relevant rules, regulations, policies, and procedures relating to analysis activities.

Ability to prepare functional program specifications for complex business applications.

Preferred Qualifications :
