JOB SUMMARY: The Technical Specialist is responsible for managing, implementing and executing the technical requirements of web application enhancements and development as it relates to UI and functionality for our web applications. The Technical Specialist will collaborate closely with the Marketing & Sales, Trade and Park Operations partners on efforts that require Parks Technology involvement, including but not limited to: backend system integration, application migration and development.

The Technical Specialist will provide technical guidance to Programmer Analysts in the UPT Trade Services team to assist them in completing daily requests as well as resolving incidents. This role will be responsible for addressing technical problems and delivering enhancements by installing new software releases to business partners and clients. The Technical Specialist will provide on-going support of all our web applications and will work from high level requirements through detailed specifications to deploy and support software. This position requires the ability to quickly understand supporting business processes and translate them into system designs that will support the objectives.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborates in team environments and independently with vendors, business partners and Technology teams on projects, application support, application development and standardization.
  • Design, test, implement, upgrade and sustain large scale business applications.
  • Analyze internal/external technical processes and/or functions, document findings, identify areas for improvement and create specifications.
  • Implementing high quality, scalable and extendable solutions using Gateway Ticketing Systems as well as custom and enterprise applications.
  • Drafts and revises technical plans, coordinates technical efforts with other teams, and documents SOPs for any new or updated processes and completes unit and automation of test for all assigned deliverables
  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering or equivalent experience.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience with Gateway Ticketing Systems solution planning and execution of installations, upgrades and fix packs preferred.
  • Technical and functional understandings of different Gateway Ticketing Systems versions and modules preferred.
  • Design and development of custom interfaces/integrations between Gateway Ticketing Systems and Enterprise Application Systems.
  • Database foundations for modeling, configuration and information management in SQL Server.
  • Design and development of customized stored procedures, applications and reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of Ticketing Systems (preferably Gateway Ticketing) functionality and interfacing techniques.
  • Preferred experience with the following applications: Gateway Ticketing Systems, Node JS, Angular, API Gateways, WebSphere Commerce, Tridion, Akamai, NGNIX.
