Woodworker/shop assistant

We are seeking a Woodworker/Shop Assistant to join our team. We are a small woodworking shop specializing in custom shadow boxes, plaques and other memorabilia in order to honor those who serve in the miliary, law enforcement and civil service. This is a great opportunity for someone who is eager to learn, has a strong work ethic, and is passionate about creating high-quality wood products.

Responsibilities:

Assist senior woodworkers with all phases of production, from rough milling to final finishing.

Operate and maintain a variety of woodworking machinery and hand tools, including table saws, jointers, planers, routers, etc.

Perform sanding, finishing, and assembly of products with a high degree of precision.

Maintain a clean and organized workshop environment, including sweeping, dusting, and tool maintenance.

Help with receiving and organizing material deliveries.

Assist with packaging and preparing finished products for shipment or delivery.

Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment.

Qualifications:

Proven experience in a woodworking shop or experience with power tools, construction/remodeling.

Proficiency in operating common woodworking machinery and hand tools safely.

Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality craftsmanship.

Ability to follow instructions and work both independently and as part of a team.

Physical ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods.

A positive attitude and a desire to learn and grow within the trade.
