Description We are seeking an Accounting Specialist to join our team in Union City, Georgia. This role primarily involves the maintenance of accurate balances in the general and subsidiary ledgers, processing of customer credit applications, and assistance in the development and administration of budgets. This is a contract employment opportunity in the telecom industry.Responsibilities: Maintain current and accurate balances of the general and subsidiary ledgers Process customer credit applications accurately and efficiently Assist Finance Director with the annual audit by preparing work papers and analyzing account balances Participate in the development and administration of the City’s budget Process all NSF Checks and maintain subsidiary ledger Assist with billing of utilities and Account receivables Assist in writing and preparation of policies and procedures Perform account reconciliations Assist in month and year end closing process Provide customer service and handle heavy telephones and data entry tasks Utilize accounting software systems such as ADP, Concur, and Great Plains Perform tasks related to accounting functions such as accounts payable and receivable, and billing functions Ensure check processing activities are carried out accurately Proficient in Microsoft Excel for maintaining various accounting sub ledgers and spreadsheetsPlease note: This role is contract-based and does not guarantee transition into a permanent position. Requirements Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems Familiarity with ADP - Financial Services Experience with Concur Knowledge of Great Plains (GPAC) Proficiency in Microsoft Excel Understanding of Accounting Functions Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) Familiarity with Billing Functions Experience in Check Processing Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Accounting Specialist or in a similar role.
