Responsible for the day-to-day management and supervision of pre-hospital care professional and ancillary staff on the assigned shift. Follows the principles and culture of the organization, utilizing acceptable management practices combined with independent judgment, while practicing within the County, Regional, State, Federal, Facility and Regulatory guidelines. Provides assistance to Captain of Emergency Medical Services for daily assignments and special projects. All areas of responsibilities and duties mirror those of a Captain as the Lieutenant is second in command on daily shifts and is expected to act in accordance to the standards set forth for the captain position. These two positions should work hand in hand as a joint unit.The value you’ll bring to the team:· Provides effective leadership and direction for hospital-based Emergency Medical Services program while utilizing effective management principles in conjunction with corporate and facility practices on assigned shift.· Provides support to Director of Emergency Medical Services in all aspects of Emergency Medical Services including financial planning and accountability; recruitment, hiring, training, promotion and discipline of staff.· Responsible for the development of goals and objectives, analyzing records and data, developing effective staffing strategies for assigned shift.· Supports and manages standard operating procedures and quality performance improvement initiatives to insure the effective provision of services.· Represents department at hospital leadership functions, community functions, meetings and activities, which promote the overall mission of the department and facility.· Responsible for staff development through coaching, mentoring, instructing, assisting and disciplining as required on assigned shift.· Reviews patient care reports, billing reports and all other required documentation per established practices, guidelines and regulations and corrects as necessary on assigned shift.· Assures all established policies, procedures, guidelines, objectives, medical protocols, safety protocols, environmental and infection control standards, both written and verbal are being met to assure a safe and effective work environment.· Assists personnel and others to provide effective care.· Provides exceptional customer service skills to patients, families, bystanders, other response agency personnel and all others at all times.QualificationsThe expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed :· Must have knowledge in operation of emergency and non-emergency Emergency Medical Service· Must have the ability to react calmly and effectively in the most critical situations· Motor vehicle operation· Must possess exceptional customer relation skills· Must have knowledge of the practices and principles of EMS leadershipEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED :· Must Possess some EMS leadership experienceLICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED :· Must have Georgia certification as an Emergency Medical Technician or Paramedic· Must have current BCLS (EMT-I, AEMT & Paramedic)· Must have current ACLS (Paramedic only)· Must have current Georgia Driver’s LicenseThis facility is an equal opportunity employer and complies with federal, state and local anti-discrimination laws, regulations and ordinances.
