DescriptionJOB DESCRIPTION:Performs all duties as an Anesthesia Technician I and II, including set up and support of equipment in all anesthetizing locations, and invasive hemodynamic monitoring lines. Follows established procedures for equipment inspection.

Tests equipment to ensure that it remains in proper operating condition. Performs lower level troubleshooting and takes corrective action to prevent hazardous situations.

Ensures the availability of expendable laboratory and monitoring supplies by inspecting inventories and initiating purchase requisitions.

Responds to emergency service requests made after regular working hours on a rotating basis.

Assists in transporting post-operative patients to the Intensive Care Unit.

Follows sterile technique principles and other infection control policies and standards to maintain a healthy work environment Takes required precautions in keeping with JCAHO, organizational and other safety guidelines when working with electrical equipment.

Performs daily apparatus equipment checks. Ability to prepare the anesthesia machine for procedures in the operating room and offsite areas.

Prep includes connecting pipeline gases and monitors correctly. Able to troubleshoot all anesthesia equipment such as machine, patient monitor, electronic medical record, intubating equipment and infusion devices.

Sets up and calibrate hemodynamic monitoring lines.

Able to prep setup by purging free of air and calibrate before use.

Performs related responsibilities as required.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred.and three (3) years of work experience as an Anesthesia Technician or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (Medium): 20-50 lbs; 0-33% of the work day (occasionally); 11-25 lbs, 34-66% of the workday (frequently); 01-10 lbs, 67-100% of the workday (constantly); Lifting 50 lbs max; Carrying of objects up to 25 lbs; Occasional to frequent standing & walking, Occasional sitting, Close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing), Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS: Factors affecting environment conditions may vary depending on the assigned work area and tasks. Environmental exposures include, but are not limited to: Blood-borne pathogen exposure Bio-hazardous waste Chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors Communicable diseases Electrical shock, Floor Surfaces, Hot/Cold Temperatures, Indoor/Outdoor conditions, Latex, Lighting, Patient care/handling injuries, Radiation, Shift work, Travel may be required.
