Billing Operations & Support Services (BOSS) Server Administrator II Responsible for an assigned range of activities which ensure the operational effectiveness of the business focusing on execution and daily task delivery in one or more of the following key areas: Adhering to company policies and procedures, working special projects as assigned, creating and maintaining documentation and maintaining the flow of communication internally and externally. Interacts effectively with internal customers and appropriate system partners to conduct necessary research to resolve issues. Actively seeks and evaluates opportunities for process improvement. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Administering IBM mid-range infrastructure along with external storage arrays, virtual and physical tape libraries and all associated operating systems and software.
  • Performing Technology Refreshes (Hardware, Operating System, Firmware).
  • Performing Patching.
  • Performing system configuration changes.
  • Deployment of Application upgrades/ fixes for responsible infrastructure.
  • Performance tuning and capacity management reporting.
  • Provisioning new environments.
  • Backup and Restore responsibilities
  • Security for responsible infrastructure
  • On time delivery of ticket / task handling to enable delivery of KPIs.
  • Proactively monitors and works incoming tasks and incidents logged into one of the workflow tools or incident-management database system (e.g. UET Keystone).
  • Identifies customer concerns and resolves or escalates customer issues expediently and accurately within documented timeframes.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5-7 years of Systems Administration experience with IBM Power Systems environments running IBM iOS.
  • Strong experience with managing partitioned systems, remote journaling, SAN technology, VIOS, HMC, BRMS, Disaster Recovery and Security
  • Experience with system hardware upgrades (example POWER8 to POWER9).
  • Experience with Operating System upgrades (example IBM 7.1 or 7.2 to 7.3)
  • Self-motivated contributor.

  • Solid written and verbal communication skills.
  • Commitment to quality customer service.
  • Knowledge of organizations technology platforms and practices including ICOMS.
  • Independently performs assignments with instruction limited to results expected.
