Building Maintenance Helper

GENERAL DESCRIPTIONThe Building Maintenance Helper will complete

required preventive maintenance and repairs as directed by the Building

Maintenance Supervisor.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Assist the Building

Maintenance Supervisor as needed. Assist in the cleaning of all

aircraft. Assist the custodial staff as needed. Ensure that all first

aid kits located in airport hangars are stocked. General repairs as

needed and directed. Operate a forklift to unload heavy equipment as

directed. Constant exposure to hazards including confined spaces,

chemicals, climbing, working in positions above and under

equipment.SKILLS, COMPETENCIES, EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR

LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS High school diploma or equivalent. Safely use

hand and power tools throughout the facility. Safely operate scissor

lifts, forklifts, and other material handling equipment. Basic knowledge

and/or experience in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and equipment

maintenance. Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in

writing.PHYSICAL DEMANDS Talk and/or hear routinely throughout the day.

Stand and/or walk constantly. Balance and climb; stoop, kneel, crouch,

or crawl. Carry tools and equipment of up to 50 pounds on occasion.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision,

distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust

focus. Work in an airport environment involving confined spaces, hot,

noisy, and wet conditions. Move and use ladders and/or scaffolds.Must be
