Industry Consultants partner with local bankers to deliver industry specific knowledge, bespoke content, and customized solutions by understanding the needs and the unique dynamics of an industry.The role of an Industry Consulting Analyst is to provide support to the assigned industry or industries and strengthen the effectiveness of Industry Consulting’s mandate to generate new business through a variety of functions. Typically, an analyst is aligned with one Industry Consultant but should expect assignments and tasks that support more than one industry and/or benefit the team as a whole. The following is a summary of the essential functions of the Analyst role. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below, and specific activities may change from time to time.What You Will DoConduct industry-specific and company-specific research to develop and enhance industry expertiseCreate and maintain industry-focused content for pitchbooks as well as standalone content and discussion materials used for internal and externalaudiences,often in partnership with various groups across the bankOwn industry’s company and transaction comps used in internal deal discussions and external marketing materialsUtilizeindustry resources and software such as CapitalIQ and Bloomberg to source relevant industry informationWork with Industry Consultant to develop and manage prospectlists and maintain databasesof companies within respective industryPartner with the Industry consultant by participating in internal deal team discussions for active pipeline opportunitiesActively engage with and develop relationships across the bank (ex. relationship managers, portfolio managers, product partners (IRM))Trackand maintain pipelineopportunities and calling activity utilizing CRM system; socialize best practices among deal team membersActivelyparticipate in deal team calls; Distribute relevant industry materials, prepare market updates, and share industry perspectives for underwriting effortsInpartnership with other analysts on the team, participate in regular and ad hoc tasks and assignments for Industry Consulting leadership, including production of team performance reportsRole may involve financial analysis, modeling, and transaction-specific engagement, but focus is largely on creating anddistributing industry knowledgethrough various forms of communicationHow You Will GrowDevelop a foundational knowledge of commercial banking, gaining exposure to a variety of credit, treasury and deposit, and capital markets products and solutionsGrow a more detailed understanding of the industry(s) to which one is primarily alignedBuild a set of core and transferable skills, including research, data analysis, professional writing, presentation building, executivepresence, and an ability to synthesize data into a story andcommunicate it effectively toabroadaudienceRequired QualificationsBachelor’sDegreeCompetitivedrive and high work ethic,exhibits intellectual curiosity, self-starterStrong analytical skills and attention to detailSolid leadership and interpersonalskillsHigh level of adaptability and flexibility with strong organizational and time managementskillsAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPointStrong written and oral communicationskills are criticalPreferred QualificationsMinimum GPA: 3.0Demonstrated work experience in finance or related fieldTruist supports a diverse workforce and is an Equal Opportunity Employer who does not discriminate against individuals on the basis of race, gender, color, religion, national origin, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, veteran status or other classification protected by law.
