This position is an integral part of the Siemens Digital Industries team for the Factory Automation Business Unit. As a product focused Channel Development Specialist your ultimate responsibility is to grow Siemens Factory Automation Business for our Industrial Computing, PC-based Automation / AI and Edge-Computing product portfolio.

As a Channel Development Specialist, you will be focused on developing a new ecosystem of distribution partners (online and / or traditional) for our Industrial Computing portfolio, where you will be responsible for defining and executing sales strategies, account planning and conducting onboarding and ramp-up activities as well as tracking and reporting revenue.

You will also be tasked with finding and developing new online channel opportunities / leads for Industrial Computing, PC-based Automation / AI and Edge-Computing products and maintain account responsibility.

Works in a team environment with Siemens TIA Account Managers, other Channel Partners as well as support resources (application engineers, marketing, etc.) to drive business via new partners.

Provide assistance to channel / distribution partners through all phases of the selling process (pricing / supply-chain / logistics).

Manages opportunity pipeline in Siemens CRM system and provides monthly operating report.

Applies excellent speaking and presentation skills to promote Factory Automation products and solutions.

This position will report to the Factory Automation Business Unit and will report directly to the Head of Industrial Computing.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:

3+ years in business development for high-tech products, Industrial Computing and / or Factory Automation.

3+ years of consultative sales experience via online and / or traditional distribution partners with measurable track record of success in external sales / business development.

Excellent relationship building and communication skills, combined with outstanding experience and know-how around selling complex Industrial Computing products via either online and / or traditional channel / distribution networks.

Experience with managing distribution and channel partner networks is mandatory for this position.

Strong technical understanding of leading PC technologies, PC-based Automation architectures and requirements as well as an exceptional knowledge of markets, trends, application / product requirements, competitive landscapes and customer decision processes for Industrial Computing.

Highly technology driven, knowledgeable and familiar with emerging market trends (Virtualization, Edge Computing, IIOT, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Big-Data, Cloud Computing and Data Analytics).

The candidate must be a team player and can work in a highly matrixed organization. This person must be self-motivated and proactive in order to keep a focus on driving account plans to ultimately onboard new partners and grow business.

Excellent written and verbal communication / presentation skills.

Organization skills to manage schedule and travel.

Computer proficiency - knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).

Education: BS/BA Electrical Engineering or Computer Science preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:The key attributes we are looking for in this position, but not required to be considered for this position are:

5+ years in business development for high-tech products, Industrial Computing and / or Factory Automation.

Excellent knowledge and understand of distribution for industrial automation equipment and / or high-tech products like Industrial PCs

Exceptional understanding of the Industrial Computing market as well as competitive products.

Strong understanding of “Smart Manufacturing” and how innovative technologies are being applied.

Willing to travel 25-50% within the US.
