This company is looking for a Cloud Engineer, this company provides cloud-based lease accounting and lease administration applications to the commercial real estate industry. This company is a Start-Up company with The Cloud Engineer will work within the application development group to manage the way we deploy, verify, and monitor applications and services. They will work with stakeholders to help define DevOps processes and shape the deployment culture. They will assist in the ongoing improvement of continuous integration tools, environment provisioning and development workflows. They will help with ongoing efforts to migrate applications and services to cloud implementations.

Required Skills & Experience
  • Support implementation and maintenance of the software development pipeline
  • Work with the software development group to help with efforts to migrate existing applications and services to the cloud
  • Help design and implement packaging and deployment of solutions in accordance to the stakeholders' needs and policies
  • Collaborate with product managers and software development group to help identify and solve deployment issues
  • Work to streamline the SDLC processes as needed
  • Help the development group with deployment strategy across development, QA, staging and production environments
  • Work with the application development group to deploy and manage tools that support SDLC automation

Desired Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 2+ years' experience working with Microsoft Azure DevOps
  • 3+ years' experience working in AWS cloud
  • 2+ years' experience working with Terraform
  • Experience with source code management tools such as TFS and Git
  • Experience deploying and administering continuous integration tools such as TFS and Azure DevOps
  • Ability to define scalable CI/CD pipelines
  • Must be very comfortable working with both developers and system administrators
  • Strong time management skills to allow for handling multiple action items and tasks simultaneously
  • 5+ years related experience
  • Knowledge of administrative best practices for application servers, database servers and 3rd party appliances
  • Proficiency in at least 1 object-oriented programming language such as Java or C#
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Must be self-directed and thrive in a fast paced and collaborative culture

What You Will Be Doing
  • Identify components of the application susceptible to performance, stability, and scalability issues.
  • Develop metrics, monitoring, and alerting to observe the health of the production system.
  • Develop or implement visual tools for technical and business teams to observe system health.
  • Be proactive in anticipating production issues - outages, slowness, processing delays, errors, and failures - and take corrective action to prevent them.
  • Act on system incidents during business and non-business hours.
  • Quickly investigate and fix performance, stability, and scalability issues in production.
  • Collaborate with SMEs as needed to investigate and resolve issues.
  • Scope technical work for the backlog for larger initiatives.
  • Maintain a record of system incidents; provide data-driven analysis to identify patterns and offer recommendations for preventative measures.
