$40k-$50kPosition Description: Provide a variety of financial and
business management technical assistance and training to new and
existing small and micro businesses and other organizations (including
public presentations and social media use), resulting in successful loan
applications. Participate in all elements of financial products,
including origination, underwriting, closing, servicing, and
collections. Serve as a primary point of contact for current clients and
potential new clients, providing awareness of our lending products and
helping them complete loan applications or make plans to meet their
financial needs. Originate loans using the Portfol loan management
software and other loan databases.Essential Responsibilities: Coordinate
with clients and other staff members to originate loans; compile and
verify all necessary documentation to process and complete loan
files.Work with other CDFI staff members to meet annual CDFI lending and
technical assistance goals.Accurately and timely enter data to the
Portfol loan accounting system and other databases,Develop new reports
and prepare existing reports using Portfol, Excel, Word, and other data
sources as required by funding agencies and organizational
procedures.Underwrite loans ensuring compliance with established program
policies and guidelines, including Character (evaluating credit),
Capacity, Capital, Collateral, and Conditions. Specialist will not
underwrite loans for which they have provided technical assistance or
counseling.Prepare underwriting analysis for review by supervisor and
presentation to the Loan Committee.Manage the loan closing process,
including coordinating with the client and preparation of closing
documents.Participate in loan servicing procedures.Work closely with
other staff to support workout, modification and foreclosure processes.
Provide small business development and counseling services to
individuals, to groups, and through media to result in establishment or
expansion of small businesses and other organizations and individuals.
Provide a high level of customer service to external and internal
customers that includes being responsive, efficient, timely, and
professional.Other duties as assigned. Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with significant experience in banking or the
financial services industry (or equivalent education and experience);
and a commitment to community improvement and economic
development.Strong commitment to our mission - creating economic
opportunity for traditionally underserved communities.Proficiency with
Word and Excel.Preference for working in organizations that prioritize
teamwork and collaboration.Ability to build effective relationships with
both internal and external partners as needed to effectively address
issues and obstacles.Strong written and verbal communication skills;
experience in public speaking and presentations.Excellent interpersonal
skills.Strong project management skills with the ability to plan,
initiate, prioritize, and service multiple projects to meet goals,
objectives, and deadlines.Ability and willingness to travel and work
more than forty hours per week, as needed.Available for overnight travel
to presentations, workshops, and training.Experience in nonprofit,
and/or credit union industry Frequently requires use of manual dexterity
and repetitive motions, primarily with the wrists, hands, and/or
fingers. Must be able to occasionally lift and exert force of up to 40
