Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or technology related field or equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. 10 years experience with mainstream Unified Communications Platforms or data network support and design. 3 years experience with OpenShift and/or Kubernetes platforms. preferred. Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration or Certified Kubernetes Administrator.

Position Purpose:

This role is part of the Container Operations Support team, responsible for providing Gulfstream's container infrastructure based on Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform. As a part of this team you will have a direct impact on the design and evolution of this company's containerized microservices. Responsible for the design, planning and platform integration with the existing infrastructure services. This role will work across functional teams as well as performing as an individual contributor.

Job Description

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:
  • Integrating container products and features into existing environment with a focus on automation of processes .

  • Developing the framework to efficiently deploy and manage OpenShift/Kubernetes clusters .
  • Developing the framework to efficiently deploy and manage OpenShift/Kubernetes clusters .
  • Mentoring and training the Container Operations Support team to drive continuous improvement .

    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Other Requirements:
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Self-starter able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Experience working in a highly available, multi-datacenter environment.
  • Ability to deploy OpenShift Container Platform 4 using IPI and UPI process.
  • Supervise maintenance of OCP environment and automate routine tasks using Ansible.

  • Knowledge of TCP/IP networking, specifically as it relates to containers.
  • Understanding of EFK stack and ability to create dashboards in Kibana.
  • Understanding of OpenShift upgrade processes.
  • Understanding of backup and restore processes .
  • Understanding of container storage backends such as NFS, vSphere, and PureStorage.
  • Understanding of Red Hat Compliance Operator and CIS policies.
  • Experience working with monitoring tools such as Netcool, Splunk, Dynatrace, or similar tools.
