Pay Grade: KThe Human Resource Generalist (HRG) is the primary point of contact with DHS client groups to provide for the clients HR resource needs. The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for multiple human resources services in support of the client and the organization.Under supervision of HRG3 Lead or HR Supervisor, HRGs provides multiple human resources services with primary responsibilities for the following functions:Roles and Responsibilities:Responsible for processing all transactions from client groups related to recruitment, employee relations, compensation/salary administration, benefits, training and other human resource functions.Responsible for all pre-employment, pre-boarding, onboarding, and new employee orientation activities for assigned areas of responsibility.Establish relationships with select members of the client management teams in order to effectively drive organizational HR initiatives.Coordinate the implementation of human resources policies, programs, and practices to ensure clients operate in compliance to ensure the protection of the agency and fairness to employees.Partner with Human Resources Supervisor to ensure effectiveness in performance planning and aligning employee performance to outlined expectations. Responsible for customer service functions by answering employee requests and inquiries. Partner with other members of the HR team to manage critical program processes, including performance management and employee relations matters. Provides coaching to management on employee development issues. This includes initial intake of employee relations matters, counseling employees on internal training alternatives for their professional development and growth, and partnering with the Human Resources Supervisor, Manager, or Specialist for ideas for problem resolution.Sound knowledge of federal compliance as it relates to federal employment laws and application. This role will partner with HR Specialists to assist in identifying various solutions and process improvements.Core Competencies:Ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.Ability to work in a very fast-paced environment while effectively and accurately managing multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.Ability to develop and make presentations on behalf of organization.Ability to demonstrate effective active listening, critical thinking and group facilitation skills.Ability to work independently with limited direction. Demonstrated excellent oral, written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills.Strong proficiency in the use of PeopleSoft and Microsoft Office Suite and/or standard software applications typically used in a corporate office environment.Working knowledge of best practices in recruiting in compliance with Federal and State laws.Demonstrated ability to remain flexible in the face of changing and multiple priorities.
