Diesel Mechanic needed

Job description:

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in maintaining and repairing diesel engines and related systems. This role requires a strong understanding of vehicle maintenance, diagnostics, and repair techniques to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our fleet. You will work on various equipment, including tractor-trailers, and be responsible for troubleshooting mechanical issues.

Essential Job Functions:

Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines.

Diagnose issues with air brake systems, hydraulics, shocks, struts, and other components.

Utilize schematics to identify problems and implement effective solutions.

Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.

Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance performed on vehicles.

Collaborate with service technicians to address complex mechanical issues.

Assist in the training of junior mechanics as needed.

Ensure a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols.

Requirements:

3+ years of experience as a Diesel Mechanic or similar role in vehicle maintenance.

Strong knowledge of diesel engine components and systems, particularly Caterpillar engines.

Familiarity with air brake systems, hydraulics, shocks, struts, and tractor-trailer maintenance.

Ability to read and interpret schematics for troubleshooting purposes.

Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
