This is much more than a job – it is a career with purpose.Summary:Works within Supply Chain Department, and is responsible to lead, develop, and implement product supply strategies to maximize sales through inventory and transportation productivity for all purchased and virtual inventory within the company. They will make decisions that will best optimize the tradeoff between vendor performance, working capital inventory investment, transportation expense, and lead times, to achieve company base business goals and support initiatives including GenNext, Ecomm, and real estate network design.Duties and Responsibilities:

Works closely with all organizational levels of Company Executives, Merchants, Vendors, Stores, Transportation providers, Woodhaven, Legal/Compliance, and Fulfillment Centers to develop strategies and tactics to achieve company goals.

Supervises the Supply Chain Inventory and Transportation Departments and is responsible for

performance, ongoing organizational design, and resource development.

Requires the ability to formulate coordinated inventory and transportation strategy, analyze operational data, manage financials, manage operations, and recommend ideas for continuous improvement to senior leadership.

Directs domestic and international logistics functions to provide superior customer service, support business initiatives, achieve budgets, track/analysis service and cost, and maintain regulatory & safety compliance for truckload, less-than-truckload, 3PL carriers, parcel, and ocean freight. A key on-going function will be to determine financially if Aaron’s should manage vendor freight in-house, or let vendor manage it.

Responsible for justifying, selecting, and implementing upgraded demand planning systems and tools to maximize sales and inventory productivity.

Leads the Inventory team in designing and enhancing accurate SKU forecasts, developing the inventory, replenishment, and transportation strategy, managing parameters for each category achieving target in-stock levels and planned inventory turns, and developing recommendations to improve inventory productivity.

Participates on strategic process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency of Merchandising, Vendors, Supply Chain, Stores and other departments.

Manages 200+ vendors, responsible for $600M+ working capital investment, and over $35M in direct transportation expense.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration and related or equivalent experience

10+ years of related retail and/or inventory and replenishment experience in a fast-paced business environment

5+ years experience in all modes of transportation and knowledge of warehouse operations

No certifications requiredRequired Skills:

Demonstrated ability to lead people and lead adoption of new concepts and ideas

Must be results-driven, adaptable, detail oriented and organized

Ability to make sound decisions with limited managerial direction

Takes accountability for decisions, actions and results

Must exhibit strong problem solving/decision making and time management skills

Extremely proficient in Microsoft Excel

Proficiency in SQL

Experience in CPFR and demand planning principals

Demonstrates the ability to analyze data, identify root causes, trends, opportunities and concerns

Exhibits excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as relationship building.

Directs Transportation and Inventory Operations teams

Oversees yearly RFP for all modes of transportation

Responsible for all regulatory compliance including Customs and SOX.

Extremely proficient in Microsoft Excel and Access
