This person will have responsibility for representing the College in commencement planning and for assigned events within New and Returning Student Programs.JOB DESCRIPTION:Plans and executes meetings, functions, and special events for multiple units and departments.

Collaborates with staff and clients to establish event goals and objectives; develops and recommends event operating procedures; establishes and manages event planning timelines; creates task assignments; and proposes resources needed to execute event.

Determines fiscal requirements for events, prepares budgetary recommendations, and negotiates terms with vendors.

Works with designers to create invitations, promotional and other printed materials.

Oversees and facilitates event briefing and coordination of speakers/presenters.

Provides leadership, direction, and coordination among speakers, staff, and volunteers during event program/production.

Prepares post-event analysis to assess opportunities and make recommendations for improving events and services to internal and external constituencies, and to implement recommendations as appropriate.

Seeks out innovative and creative ideas for events through research, networking, and continuing education classes.

May supervise staff.

Performs related responsibilities as required.

ADDITIONAL JOB DETAILS:For all assigned events/programs, this position establishes program event goals and objectives develops and recommends event operating procedures. The EM leads committee meeting for assigned events/programs; establishes and manages event planning timelines; creates task assignments; and proposes resources needed to execute events.

The EM determines fiscal requirements for events, prepares budgetary recommendations, and negotiates terms with vendors; works with designers to create invitations, promotional and other printed materials; oversees and facilitates event briefing and coordination of speakers/presenters; provides leadership, direction, and coordination among speakers, staff, and volunteers during event program/production.

The EM prepares post-event analysis to assess opportunities and make recommendations for improving events and services to internal and external constituencies, and to implement recommendations as appropriate; Seeks out innovative and creative ideas for programs and events through research, networking, and continuing education classes. In addition to leading assigned events, the EM supports the operations of NSP and RSP including, but not limited to CRM (Slate), purchasing, catering, campus services work orders and room reservations. This position may supervise staff. Performs related responsibilities as required.

Plans, coordinates, and executes Commencement activities for Emory College including College Diploma Ceremony and Fall Graduation Reception.

Supports planning and day-of execution of additional Senior’s activities including Class Day Crossover and Honor’s Ceremony

Plans and executes meetings, functions, and events for New Student Programs such as Family Friday Webinars, Orientation Expo, Transfer Student Orientation and Academic Showcase.

Supports planning/ day-of execution for New and Returning Student Programs.

Provides operational support for New and Returning Student Programs including CRM superuser, Management of room reservations/work orders, Catering, Marketing/Swag orders, NSP and Commencement inboxes.

Provides event support to OUE/College.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree and three years of related experience, or equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.

NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs. Schedule is based on agreed upon guidelines of department of work.
