Madison Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for pet owners and their beloved animals, providing exceptional customer service while managing administrative tasks in a fast-paced veterinary environment. A strong understanding of animal care and the ability to communicate effectively with both clients and veterinary staff are essential for success in this role.
This position is currently part-time, but has potential to expand into full-time in the future.
Responsibilities:
Greet clients and their pets upon arrival, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere.
Schedule appointments and manage the clinic's calendar efficiently.
Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries regarding services, pet care, and clinic policies.
Maintain accurate patient records, including medical history and treatment plans.
Accurately handle payment transactions and daily reports.
Assist veterinary staff with animal restraint during examinations or procedures.
Provide information on pet care, including nutrition, training, and general husbandry.
Ensure cleanliness and organization of the reception area.
Requirements:
Knowledge of animal anatomy and veterinary terminology is preferred.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to work well under pressure in a busy environment.
Previous experience in a veterinary clinic.
A passion for animal welfare and providing high-quality pet care.
Ability to read and write both English and Spanish is preferred.
