Food & Packaging Quality Assurance Trainer and Operations Leader

Location: Hartwell, GA (Consumer Packaged Goods)

Initial term: 18 months (likely to extend)

The Food & Packaging Quality Assurance Trainer and Operations Leader will lead the factory in ensuring that all operational quality aspects are in place and high functioning including, but not limited to, HACCP/Food Safety Plans, QMS, net content program, seam/seal integrity, and the overall operational compliance to all internal and external Quality requirements for lines 4, 5 & 6. This position will also coordinate and/or provide technical support for lines 4, 5 & 6 with regards to process flow, ingredient management and receiving, formulation, and processing equipment. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES :
  • Develop, train, and manage lines 4, 5, & 6 food safety programs including but not limited to GMPs, tool policies, detection programs, and food safety inspections.
  • Develop, train, and manage line 4, 5, & 6 HACCP/Food Safety Plan and QMS.
  • Develop, train, and manage line 4, 5 & 6 net content program.
  • Develop, train, and manage seam/seal integrity competency for lines 4, 5, & 6. Be a technical expert for seam/seal integrity and seamers/fillers.
  • Develop, train, and manage QA inspection checks for lines 4, 5 & 6.
  • Implement, train, and manage RedZone checks for lines 4, 5 & 6.
  • Develop lines 4, 5 & 6 QA transition plans from construction, to commissioning, to production.
  • Facilitate, coordinate, and lead QA operational support and improvements for the QA stream including but not limited to, problem solving, Quality Monitoring Schemes, project implementation, and standard creation and implementation.
  • Promote quality awareness and serve as an ambassador and as an example of Food Safety and Quality compliance throughout the facility and with customers/vendors/contractors.
  • Be a technical expert for the factory process and equipment.
  • Coordinate finished product specification maintenance and updates as necessary.
  • Be a local point of contact/lead for factory trials and tests. Coordinate QA support for trials and tests as needed.
  • All other job duties as assigned.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 3+ years QA start up experience in a manufacturing, industrial and/or military environment
  • Food and Beverage experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • PCQI certification or equivalent certification
