Indirect Tax Manager – Nashville, TN.As an Indirect Tax Manager, your challenge will be to leverage your analytical and technical capabilities while bringing persistence and enthusiasm to provide the utmost adherence to Indirect Tax and supporting the accounting function. You will continually expand your expertise in Indirect Tax and Accounting as well as demonstrate your abilities to bring superior accounting and indirect tax leadership to Philips. This position will report to Nashville as a part of the Group Tax Function on a hybrid schedule (3 days a week in office).You will be responsible for supporting several high-volume businesses across the United States in the health technology industry. You must be able to respond quickly and maintain a high sense of urgency to ensure integrity and accuracy to support the companies for which you are responsible. You will also be responsible for building a network across the Philips organization as well as with external third-party support teams to leverage best- in-class results. To excel in this role, you should be able to constantly challenge yourself and others to achieve and surpass the goals of the team.Your role:

Manage and ensure the preparation and data review of the transaction tax filings by the third-party vendor, including sales and use tax, personal property taxes, gross receipt taxes, unclaimed property, and business licenses.

Act as primary liaison with third-party vendors and business units to ensure compliance with state and local laws.

Responsible for identifying, reviewing, calculating, and maintaining provisions as needed w/ support of audit manager.

Act as the primary consultant and resource for indirect tax questions for the business units you will support.

Build a relationship with the business units you are responsible for to ensure tax reporting and compliance meets company Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and reported as required.

Review monthly tax accruals for accuracy and work with accounting units as needed for proper reconciling of tax accounts.

Understand and prepare projections for indirect tax accruals and payments against budget extract data from financial systems and compliance files for indirect tax audit needs,

Perform nexus analysis annually and perform registration updates as needed.

Work with business units teams to assure taxability on sales and purchasing functions correctly

Participate in ERP system’s design, maintenance, and implementation related to indirect tax matters to ensure compliance, enhance efficiency, and minimize exposure.

Identify and implement Indirect Tax planning opportunities.

Research and document sales and use tax issues and keep current on transaction tax developments.

Maintain documentation in accordance with SOX requirements.

Ensure processes are in place to obtain sales tax exemption certificates and periodically audit those processes for compliance.

Manage and perform special projects as needed including migration, acquisitions new product development.

Perform all other related duties as assigned.

Identify issues as they arise and present solutions.

You're the right fit if:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or Finance required.

MST and/or CPA/CMI preferred.

7+ years of experience in a large corporate environment and or public experience preferred.

Experience with Unclaimed Property required.

Knowledge of US Indirect tax laws/regulations.

Able to work under critical time constraints.

Knowledge of SAP and Vertex O Series preferred.

Knowledge of HRS Pro Unclaimed Property software.

Excellent analytical, organization, planning and communication skills.

The actual base pay offered may vary depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.In addition, other compensation, such as an annual incentive bonus, sales commission or long-term incentives may be offered.
