Laboratory Technician

We are looking for

• Generally, product lines assigned to this level are the most difficult, complex, and problematic serodiagnostic reagents manufactured by the client.
• Almost 80% of the associate’s time is required to perform these duties.
• Assist with the Formulation of polyclonal antiserum, and antigens and initiate all related activities including testing, glassware cleaning, and equipment cleaning/Cleaning.
• lace (CIP), and temperature monitoring of controlled areas.
• Assist in process improvements of existing product lines.
• Assist in the completion of the documentation required under GMPs, GLPs, OSHA, EPA, USDA, FDA, and corporate policies.
• Operate centrifuges and other related equipment such as water baths, spectrophotometers, etc.
• Manufacture all media and solutions required for manufacturing processes. Participate in the upkeep and stocking of the media room.
• Other related activities include scheduling batches, autoclaving, immunizations, temperature monitoring, cleanup of lab area, etc.
• Perform sterile filtration of both intermediate and finished products using various methods and equipment.
• Perform chemical delipidation of animal and human sera.
• For employees assigned task lists inclusive of fermentation activities, also will perform setup, operation, and cleaning of the various fermenters, software, downstream processing equipment, and other ancillary equipment in this laboratory.

• Must be able to lift moderately heavy weights.
• Must be able to endure prolonged sitting.
• Must be nonsensitive to chemicals used in manufacturing processes.
• Must have high visual acuity, (corrected or uncorrected), to be able to detect articulate flocculation patterns or reactions.

• Minimum B.S. in Microbiology Biochemistry or other biological sciences preferred
• Must possess good basic mathematical skills, i.e. addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, exponents, and fractions.
• Must possess good scientific aptitude and abstract problem-solving abilities.
• For individuals with a B.S. degree, a minimum of one year of work experience in a life science laboratory is desired.
