Job Overview
I'm currently looking for more job opportunities from land surveyors, grading contractors or civil engineers around the Atlanta area calculating coordinates and documents for field crews to be used on new construction projects.
Experience
I’m a surveying office manager and technician with 30 years of experience surveying around the Atlanta area. I have a strong foundation in surveying and construction techniques.
Strong understanding and ability to check civils, architecturals, structurals, steel shop drawings, wall profiles and hardscape plans.
I can calculate as little as needed or manage the project from start to finish while communicating with the GC as well as managing the crew while ensuring the coordinate file and plans are up to date.
Calculated mostly boundary, erosion, detention ponds, underground ponds, chamber systems, slope staking, building layout, retaining walls, storm, sanitary, water and curb for commercial type projects and higher end residential homes.
Great communication skills and I'm accustomed to being available to answer questions by the crew to insure a high level of accuracy.
High level of problem-solving skills in the office and field. I also understand the chain of command and to not assume anything outside of my scope which an RFI should be created for.
Produce pond, site and utility as-builts once all construction is finished.
Worked every position from ground up from graduating Forestry school to becoming a rod man, instrument man, crew chief and now office manager and technician.
When calculating curb grades I check percentages to be sure the plans have efficient flow and RFI any issues or for additional grades. I never assume the proposed cad-files and grading plans are correct, this is why I spend the time checking the flow and producing points for every spot in the curb that needs a grade stake.
Conclusion
I would consider myself more old school producing txt/asc files with elevations and descriptions on every coordinate point that needs to be staked so the crew chief has less field calculations, this way even a young crew chief can be successful. I typical work for land surveyors calculating every points to be staked to ensure accuracy and catch errors in the plans using SU Data and Carlson Survey 2024 for office calculations.
Please email me if you would like my resume, have a quick question or attach your phone number and I would be happy to call you.
