Position - Lead Cloud Database Migration Engineer/Architect Location - Remote Type - W2,1099 JD Client is migrating a database for payrolling & reporting from Azure to AWS thus building a new DB. AWS is more in line with the overall enterprise direction. Candidates must have experience with both platforms, and cloud to cloud migration experience is required. Azure to AWS migration experience is preferred, but AWS to Azure might suffice. All code is in Azure and GIT Hub Data is currently in a financial DWH (repository on clinician, payment, active and former employees, EHR etc., with a BI layer on top) Financial services experience is preferred Want someone who has experience organizing teams, directing teams, building teams very nice to have This is a new team, and new project. Great starting point for someone wanting to be a lead and build a new team! Will be working core hours 9 EST 6 EST This is a unique opportunity to join, build, and lead a newly created team that will build innovative solutions for our patients and providers. We are looking for a senior engineer to lead the migration of our EDW that services our revenue and payroll calculations. This is a highly impactful product to our company and will need someone who is driven and detail oriented. This person will partner with Dev-Ops, Product and QA to ensure the successful delivery of the migrated product. RESPONSIBILITIES Lead the migration strategy for data Document and communicate the migration strategy Assist in breaking down the migration work into small executable steps by the team Mentor and collaborate with engineers of varying experience Collaborate with other developers, QA, product owners, and designers Specify technical solutions in clear and concise written documentation Readily shares knowledge across the team Champion best practices, coding standards, and documentation Implement Bug Fixes Translate product requirements and technical designs into well-engineered, low-defect, robust code Participate and engage in all Scrum Ceremonies Develop high-quality, working code features and bug fixes Participate in regular code reviews Write automated tests, including comprehensive unit and integration tests Interface with team members to troubleshoot, debug, and fix issues in production and non-production environments. Engage and mentor other members on the team SKILLS & EXPERIENCE Experience migrating data warehouses 8+ years Azure experience (DataBricks, DataFactory, DataLake) 8+ years AWS experience 8+ years SQL experience 4+ years Pyspark experience 4+ years Python experience Experience with semantic data model Experience with Github and Azure DevOps Experience with Azure DataLake, Azure DataFactory, Azure DataBricks Experience supporting PowerBI Dashboards Experience with native Azure tools Experience with AWS Glue, AWS RDS Experience with Jenkins Experience with API and ODBC integrations Experience building or maintaining large scale highly available data warehouse/data lake Ability to lead projects across stacks and blended teams Must be data driven, objective and goal oriented Effectively communicate and understand project requirements Experience working in an Agile environment following SDLC Strong sense of ownership and ability to work cross functionally
