Description We are on the hunt for an adept Legal Assistant to join us in Brunswick, Maine. This role encompasses a variety of responsibilities including managing phones, calendar management, scheduling and event planning, and handling work and mail filing. You will also be responsible for responding to emails using your strong communication skills. This role is a contract position in the legal industry, with a strong focus on administrative tasks.Responsibilities: Manage incoming and outgoing calls, ensuring all communications are handled promptly and professionally. Handle calendar management tasks, including scheduling appointments, meetings, and events. Assist in event planning to ensure smooth and efficient operations. Manage work filing systems, ensuring all documents are stored correctly and are easily accessible. Handle mail filing, sorting all incoming and outgoing mail appropriately. Respond to emails in a timely and professional manner, ensuring all communication is clear and accurate. Use Microsoft Office Suites to create and manage documents, spreadsheets, and presentations. Operate multi-line phone systems, directing calls to the appropriate person or department. Handle inbound telephone calls, providing excellent customer service and responding to inquiries. Utilize strong email correspondence skills to maintain clear and open communication with clients and colleagues. Requirements Must have proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites Experience in calendar management is essential Ability to handle email communications and correspondence effectively Should be capable of handling phone coverage duties Knowledge and experience in multi-line phone systems is required Ability to manage inbound telephone calls professionally Previous experience in a legal assistant role is desirable Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team High degree of professionalism and discretion due to exposure to confidential information Bachelor's degree in law or related field is preferred Exceptional multitasking and time management skills.
