Position Purpose:The Manager, Online User Experience (UX) will lead a team of UX professionals to develop processes, strategies, and solutions that enhance the online customer experience and maximize the revenue potential of Homedepot.com. This Manager will need to lead cross-functionally across various UX teams and other departments in order to implement solutions that will enhance consumer interaction with The Home Depot's e-commerce platform. This person needs previous experience in helping Product partners define requirements and utilizing those requirements to identify the root cause of site users' problems and helping the designer to create an interface to solve the issues and fulfill the requirements. This role requires previous experience in collaborating with various UX peers to create and evaluate research & testing deliverables, envisioning edge-cases, dependencies, and risks, and this role requires an ability to clearly communicate optimal design solutions to a variety of audiences across all teams within the dot com business.Additional Key Responsibilities:Collaborates and manages alignment and relationships with direct reports, other UX teams, multiple levels of stakeholders, business clients, product partners, and developers to identify requirements and verify design feasibility
Leads, mentors, and develops direct reports in both design and career development
Evaluates existing user experiences and identifies areas for improvement and strategic improvements
Researches designs and current/future technology abilities to identify elegant solutions for the current state and identify innovative future solution for complex user experience problems
Major Tasks, Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities:20% Evaluates existing user experiences and identifies areas for improvement
20% Collaborates with business clients and developers to identify requirements and verify design feasibility
20% Researches user interface design and development techniques to identify innovate and elegant solutions to complex user interface problems
15% Designs application user interfaces, including information architecture and interaction design; produces design documents that explain design to clients and developers
10% Creates user interface resources such as graphics, icons, audio, video and help documentation
15% Leads and develops assigned staff to provide the best possible experience for Home Depot customers
Nature and Scope:Position reports to Sr Manager, User Experience
Accountable for direct supervision of the work activities of others. In addition to personnel issues including selection, termination, performance appraisal and professional development of subordinates.
For Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada and New York City residents: The pay range for this position is between $150,000 and $240,000. Starting salary may vary based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, the position being offered, location, education, training, and/or experience. The Home Depot offers additional competitive financial and non-financial benefits, which may include a performance-based bonus program or a profit sharing program depending on position
Environmental Job Requirements:Environment:Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.Travel:Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.Standard Minimum Qualifications:Must be eighteen years of age or older.Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.Education Required:The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.Years of Relevant Work Experience:5 yearsPhysical Requirements:Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. Experience designing eCommerce applications preferred
Previous experience working with Agile teams preferred
Experience designing on enterprise / productivity applications a plus
Previous development experience a plus
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:BS or MS in Human Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Graphic Design with emphasis on UI design, Computer Science with emphasis on UI development or equivalent
Minimum of 2 years of experience managing development or design teams
4-plus years of industry experience in UI design
Exceptional attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to present to audiences at all levels
Strong understanding of multichannel ramifications of interactive enhancements and alterations
