Credence Management solutions is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for our Small Caliber Ammunition program within the Armament Sustainment Division at Robins AFB, GA.

The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC) Armament Sustainment Division is focused on both system acquisition and sustainment. Program requirements vary based on life-cycle phase. The Armament Sustainment Division supports United States Air Force (USAF) requirements and FMS requirements from over 44 countries.

The Small Caliber Ammunition program, Armament Sustainment Division, Armament Directorate (AFLCMC/EBW, Robins AFB, GA) manages and sustains all small caliber ammunition for the USAF, and translates requirements into procurement execution and stockpile support for all small arms ammunition needs (i.e. numerous variants of 12 ga, 5.56mm, .22 cal, 9mm, 7.62mm, .50 cal and 40mm grenade). Small Caliber Ammunition maintains a systematic process for measuring and reporting all fielded ammunition Operational Safety, Suitability & Effectiveness (OSS&E) elements. These elements include Deficiency Reports, Malfunction Reports, Expenditure Reports, and Aging & Surveillance Test Data.

The Mechanical Engineer will perform mechanical/aerospace/materials engineering work involving in the application of advanced theories, concepts, principles, and processes to the acquisition, development, and sustainment of weapon systems, subsystems, and/or support equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Mechanical Engineers shall plan, organize, direct, and coordinate significant and complex projects involving the science of mechanical engineering (e.g., statics, dynamics, tribology, mechanical wear, fatigue, corrosion, fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and heat transfer) and the science and practice of aeronautics involving airborne vehicles traversing the earth's atmosphere and space flight, along with developing and applying the means of testing, evaluation, life prediction, and standardization of materials and their properties for use in engineering designs and projects.
  • This includes the generation and interpretation of technical data such as 2D drawings and 3D models.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of Secret security clearance required.
  • Education/Experience criteria must be met:
    • BS degree in Engineering from an

      ABET Accredited University and 10 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed.
  • Willingness to travel if required.
