Network Engineer

Description:This role is supporting Federal law enforcement sector of the business.Services & Deliverables PerformedRedhat Linux - system admin (they are an isp company, they connect things) this person has to have some basic networking -they need to log into switch, check vlan , check the status of environment and complete update accordingly.Daily task: The manager offloads the task that’s doesn't need alot of planning and engineering. so i can focus on higher projects. The engineer then executes with minimal help, he doesn’t have the time to hold their hand. The engineer needs to take initiative.experience with cisco R/S , Or any other core R/S like juniper .Needs Any Linux scripting experience: they will interact with the script more from an editing perspective - at least 5 lines of code.They work directly with labs, looking at the configuration, and see what it's doing and see if they should be able to look at config and see what its doing.o vlan assignments (Production, mgmt, backup, etc, request new VLANs if needed, public/private (clustering)o obtain IP addresses and request DNS entriesKey Skills Attention to detail/organizational skills Ability to multitask, often have multiple projects, spanning multiple sites, at various points in the project life cycle. Basic understanding of network infrastructure Basic familiarity with various types of servers and storage device requirements, Linux, Windows, VM/ESXI, Avamar, Data Domain, Pure Storage Arrays, NetApp, among others.
