- This position assists in the development, operations, and maintenance of network environment, and the production Client Data Center.
- Responsibilities include engineering changes to the network infrastructure, configuration of production servers, and maintaining the highest levels of network and systems availability.
- Also, this position provides emergency support of production systems problems.
- 3+ years of network engineering experience
- BS Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent experience required
- Strong written skills technical documentation.
- Intermediate problem-solving skills in multiple operating environments.
- Intermediate knowledge of network components (WAN and LAN).
- Troubleshooting network environments.
- Strong understanding of network security.
- Ability to work well with other groups to plan, design, and implement work.
- Good oral and written communications skills.
- Implement and change the Wide Area Network and the Local Area Network.
- Monitor and recommend changes and additions in data circuits and bandwidth.
- Work with the Security Engineers to plan and implement network security including building/maintaining firewalls, applying encryption, managing host security, file permissions, and other related items.
- Establish and maintain adequate backup and recovery for all network devices. Troubleshoot server and networking problems to correct malfunctions and other operational difficulties.
- Develop and maintain a production network/server capacity plan so that capacity can be forecasted and equipment changes planned.
- Develop and maintain adequate technical documentation on software configurations, installation instructions, network diagrams, backup/recovery, standards, and other related information.
- Conduct performance monitoring and tuning on the network.
- Learn solutions and indicators regarding security in network environment.
- Complete assigned tasks in the Wide Area Network and the Local Area Network.
- Install or troubleshoot programs within network environments.

- Team is currently using Cisco Networking Equipment in data centers and remote sites
- Midst of changing equipment to Aruba for remote sites only SD WAN solution (Gateway, Switches, Access Points) Team will be responsible for the roll out
- Controllers serves as router
- 2023 Overview Get all US remote sites done including large offices such as Boca Raton
- 2024 Overview Project transition, pass on to UK team; US team will be supporting UK team in their implementation/transition
- Team holds keys for all things SolarWinds NPM Enterprise (Network Monitoring) PagerDuty within SolarWinds
- Team is on an on-call duty PagerDuty to be notified (incidents, alerts, etc)
- Team has used ThousandEyes for about a year (troubleshooting tool) plug in source & destination (shows routes/incidents where things are broken)
- Team is in beginning stages of using NetBrain: tool to help create documentation/graphs/charts concerning network (Visio on steroids)
- LiveAction for Meta Data on network; frame by frame look at network to pinpoint issue
- Microsoft Visio project to map out data centers and network (strength with Visio because team is lacking a bit in areas)
- Network Diagraming experience
- The Aruba SD-WAN solution will be used at remotes sites (offices) only. Cisco will still be used in the data centers.
