WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE DO EAR Specialists support the EAR Management Group within the Compliance Assurance Office (CAO). EAR stands for Engineering Authorized Representative, which is the Engineering Unit Member (UM) role within the Gulfstream ODA. The EAR Management Group supports the EARs across all areas and locations within Gulfstream where these individuals reside. The group also supports Candidates In Development (CIDs) who are in training to become EARs, and FAA Designated Engineering Representatives (DERs) who are applying to have their FAA delegated authorities converted to the ODA. THE POSITION As an EAR Specialist, you will primarily be responsible for reviewing EAR applications to ensure they are complete and correct, managing administrative aspects of EAR appointment Technical Evaluation Panels (group reviews of the application packages) and Interviews, creating correspondence that will be sent to EARs and to FAA personnel, tracking applicants' required ODA and FAA training records, and maintaining staff files for each EAR and EAR applicant. The right candidate for this position: > Has a high degree of integrity > Has excellent planning and organizational skills > Is an effective communicator - excellent oral and written communication skills > Has very good typing skills (touch typing; not "hunt and peck") > Is proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel (Required) > Is Self-driven > Is upstanding - ethical, courteous, and conscientious in a manner that will reflect highly on the Compliance Assurance Office (CAO) and ODA Experience with FAA and/or ODA procedures is preferred. Experience with Gulfstream processes is preferred.

Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in business, science, aviation or related field required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. 5 years FAA or ODA process/designee coordination experience, with one year in a regulated industry preferred.

Position Purpose:

Under limited supervision this position is responsible for the implementation, and continuous improvement, of approved Gulfstream ODA enterprise-wide AR (Authorized Representatives) coordination oversight functions and processes including AR selection, development, renewal, and support. ARs are individuals who have defined ODA compliance authority, either in the Engineering or Inspection areas. Responsible for the coordination, development and maintenance of AR files (documenting AR qualifications, authorities, training, audits, and corrective actions). Position will serve as a focal for Enterprise ODA AR oversight activities for either Engineering or Inspection personnel.

Job Description

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:
  • Guide and coordinate the AR oversight processes for existing Gulfstream ODA ARs and new AR appointments. .
  • Implement the ODA approved processes for AR selection, development, evaluation, renewal and support.
  • Collaborate, monitor and propose updates to company regulatory processes to align with organizational delegation objectives.
  • Development of electronic tools to enhance process success.
  • Collaborate with the ODA staff across all sites in the development, maintenance and communication of AR depth of knowledge basis and understand of authorities.
  • Provide guidance to the AR candidate staff in the production and maintenance of their individual development plans in support of the Gulfstream approved process.
  • Maintenance of AR related intranet pages and improvements to ODA AR web pages across all sites.
  • Serve as a point of contact for enterprise Gulfstream personnel, and interface with the FAA, on AR development, selection, renewal, training, audits, etc.
  • Coordinate the development and refinement of the Gulfstream ODA procedures related to ARs in a manner that yields maximum efficiency while achieving optimum compliance with all related FAA requirements.
  • Interface with various Gulfstream business units and related suppliers for all activities above for non-Gulfstream ARs.
  • Interpret and enforce all documentation formatting, standards, policies, and operating procedure requirements.
  • Additional Functions:
  • Support Gulfstream Administrators and staff at all Enterprise ODA sites in regards to AR management. .
  • Support development of standardized cross site training plans for development of individuals for AR appointment. .
  • Assist the ODA AR Administrator in the evaluation and dissemination of new FAA regulations, policies and guidance and implementation guidance to ARs. .
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
