How will you power what’s possible?Location: [[MC - Carrollton, GA]]Shift: [[D - 6:50p-7a]]Pay Rate: [[26.35]] – [[28.04]]Job DescriptionJOB OVERVIEW:The Operator, Armoring, is a medium skill role will process steel/aluminum MC Cable to achieve safety, quality and efficiency requirements. Initial duties will include but are not limited to loading and unloading raw material and correctly tagging material.GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:High school diploma or equivalentMust read, write, and speak English; Bilingual in Spanish is a plusMust be able to stand and lift heavy loads for long periods of timeOperator must be able lift up to 45 lbsOperator must be able to follow instructionsOperator must be able to interpret production ordersAny other job duties as assignedPRIMARY JOB TASKS:Operator should be training to qualify in the operation, coordinating several tasks in such a manner to maximize production while safely maintaining specific procedures and quality of steel/aluminum MC CableOperator must learn to make judgements concerning quality of the steel/aluminum MC CableOperator will learn to interact with computer controls to operate machine/work cellOperator will learn to interact with control panels to pinpoint and eliminate various operating problemsOperator will learn to coordinate material handling, production with other operators on the line to ensure a continuous production processOperator will learn to maintain material levels for all levels of operationOperator will be responsible for loading and unloading of raw materials and finished goodsMust be able to work under supervision and maintain ongoing communication with the supervisor and peers through verbal instruction and reportsIdentify scrap and place into designated scrap areasCROSS TRAINING:Will be required to cross-train on equipment within your identified workgroup at your facilityOnce trained in more complex jobs, may be required to fill the position in the event of absence or vacancyWill be required to rotate on a set frequency within your workgroup to maintain skill proficiencyQUALITY:Use the company’s ISO Quality System documentation to help guide all daily quality activitiesDo not release products until all quality checks have been passedImmediately report quality issues to the supervisor, department manager, or quality managerSAFETY:Working safely is a condition of employmentFollow all company environmental rules/procedures and handle all materials in a manner designed to minimize environmental impactFollow all safety procedures and rules including safe material handlingProperly wear all required PPEReview and know all Job Hazard Analyses for proper job sequence and hazards associated with the jobs assigned to doReview and know all Safety Data Sheets for the jobs assigned to doMaintain all work areas to 5S standardsPerform pre-operation safety inspection and hazard analysisResponsible to observe Southwire safety rules and maintain good housekeepingPHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:Physical activity associated with daily performance of this job include: balance, climbing, fingering, grasping, hearing, kneeling, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motions, standing, stooping, walking and sittingMust be able to work in hot and cold environments normally found in a prefabricated building without climate-controlOperator may be exposed to high levels of noise and a dusty environmentOperator may be exposed to gaseous lift fumesOperator may be exposed to hazardous materialBenefits We Offer:
