The client is currently allowing telecommuting, however the work conditions may change at any moment and require 100% on-site The Database Administrator will be responsible for designing and securing computer databases to store, track, and maintain a large volume of critical business information. Under minimal supervision, the DBA will be part of HFRD team and work with IT. Under general supervision, designs and secures computer databases to store, track, and maintain a large volume of critical business information. Monitors database systems to ensure the enterprise functionality of the database and the availability of system data. Identifies actual and potential database problems and recommends and/or implements solutions.

Performs physical modeling, database definition and administration functions.

Migrates database objects from test to production environments within predefined time frames. Works with appropriate personnel in determining that objects are ready for production implementation.

Reviews hardware and network changes, which might affect the database. Assists technical support personnel and software/hardware vendors with installation, maintenance support, software interface requirements and problem determinations and resolution. Makes recommendation to management on database software/hardware acquisitions and/or updates.

Advises programmers on coding database access. Reviews database access language and procedures and recommends revisions to make programs run more efficiently. Designs, codes and tests SQL for applications.

Conducts database analysis to determine the areas that will require performance and tuning. Establishes a method for monitoring and tuning the database and its utilities. Skill Required / Desired Amount of Experience Proven knowledge working with Oracle-based technologies Required 2 Years Ability to maintain OLTP databases Required 2 Years Knowledge of query languages such as PL/SQL and SQL Required 2 Years Knowledge of Personally Identifiable Information (PII) data security standards Required 2 Years Knowledge of system and application security threats and vulnerabilities Required 2 Years Knowledge of data backup, types of backups (e.g., full, incremental), and recovery concepts and tools Required 2 Years Experience and knowledge in code migrations, database changes, enforcement of the data integrity Required 2 Years Experience and knowledge with application security management Required 2 Years Working knowledge working with MSSQL and/or MySQL Highly desired Working Knowledge of T-SQL query language Highly desired Working Knowledge working with PostsgreSQL Highly desired
