Principal IT Engineer ApplicationsThis work location can be based out of Atlanta, Georgia or any of the Kaiser Permanente Regions: California, Colorado, Oregon, Washington, Hawaii, Maryland, Virginia, or District of Columbia In this role, you will be responsible for the development and experience engineering for Kaiser Permanente’s Help Me Navigate To Care web experience. You will contribute to all aspects of the software development lifecycle which includes estimating, technical design, implementation, documentation, testing, deployment, and technical product support for web applications developed for our business partners and stakeholders. You will also develop, configure, or modify basic to moderately complex integrated business and/or enterprise web application engineering solutions within various computing environments by designing and coding component-based applications using programming languages. You will be expected to play a hands-on role that will leverage both client-side web frameworks and server-side scripting frameworks to develop high performance, scalable web applications. In addition, you will leverage devops and Agile practices, to design, develop, and deliver resilient, secure, high-volume, high-transaction, cloud-based solutions. In this senior level role, you will primarily be responsible for translating business requirements and functional specifications into software solutions, for contributing to and leveraging the technical direction for the development of integrated business and/or enterprise application solutions, and for serving as a technical expert for project teams while providing consultation to help ensure new and existing software solutions are developed. Qualifications Include:- At least five years of experience working on projects involving the implementation of solutions applying development life cycles (e.g., SDLC)
- At least two years of experience in a technical leadership role with or without direct reports
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, CIS, or a related field and at least eight years of experience in software development or a related Additional equivalent work experience may be substituted for the degree requirement
- Three years of development experience with Angular JS
- Three years of development experience with Java
- Three years of development experience with Node.js
- Three years of development experience with responsive UI (HTML 5, CSS3, etc.)
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, CIS, or a related field
