JOB SUMMARY

The Georgia Proud Provisions delivery driver is the face of partnered farms to the public and our customers and acts as a representative for all companies in everything he/she does. Everyday attendance is a critical component in fulfilling this fast paced position. Driver will perform the day to day route operations by serving clients with regard to routing, sorting goods and transporting produce to local restaurants and to local farmers markets. Saturday early run is to markets in a small box truck. Weekday deliveries in the small box truck or a small van.

This position is seasonal; however, year-round employment is possible

SCHEDULE

Wednesday, Thursday, Friday (9am to around 3pm) - subject to change based on availability

Saturday (early: 5am-9am)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

- Current, valid Georgia driver’s license

- Clean driving record, no exceptions. No DUI’s and no major moving violations or accidents within the past 60 months. - Driving record will be pulled and if affects commercial insurance rate the hiring process will end

- Familiar with driving in Atlanta area - routes are often determined by driver

- Own a phone that does not limit mapping, texting and other functions necessary to make deliveries

- No smokers - it’s not welcome around the product or customers

- Forklift experience is a plus but not required (have forklift experience? Monday would be added to the workweek)

- Familiarity with Atlanta area restaurants is a plus

- Demonstrated professionalism, dependability and initiative in prior work experience. Please provide references.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

- Regularly required to stand, sit, walk, use hands and arms, talk and hear

- Use of pallet jack

- Regularly lifts items up to 30 pounds

- Vehicle loading of 1000lbs

- Will spend the majority of time in vehicle but also in restaurant kitchens, outdoors and in a cooler (exposed to varying temperatures).

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

- Responsible for proper handling and storage of produce from warehouse to the drop off points, proper packing of delivery vehicle, end of day vehicle checks and end of day paperwork.

- Responsible for determining optimal delivery route

- Responsible for the safe and timely transportation of produce to the appropriate destination

- Make periodic drops or pickups at local farmers markets to staffed tables

- Follow route as scheduled while allowing for will-call stops and special pickups

- Responsible for operating company vehicle safely as well as maintaining a valid driver’s license and driving record

- Ensure route is started with proper supplies, i.e. invoices, marker, pen, tape gun, food samples, cell phone, etc.

- Communicate with manager before leaving an area to ensure will-calls have been cleared

- Keep client invoices organized

- Communicate product details with chefs

- Use pallet jack to move produce in warehouse

- Match and file delivery paperwork daily

- Keep vehicle fueled for weekends

- Maintain vehicle food grade cleanliness

- Track and complete any missed drops for the following day
