We welcome candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of our academic community.DescriptionJOB DESCRIPTION:Primary duties are organizing, coordinating, and planning operational facets of a program and its related activities which include, but are not limited to the following: establishing long-term operational objectives, researching factors that may impact the success of the program, and working with individuals or groups to research and document program requirements in order to provide appropriate input into the development of strategic plans.

Develops work plans to accomplish program goals and objectives and monitors progress toward their achievement.

Conducts research and gathers information to develop various publications.

Develops promotional materials which may include content for reports, briefings, newsletters, grants or other written information related to the program.

Assists in developing and coordinating program-related conferences, conventions, or meetings.

Monitors expenditures and may participate in the budget planning process and prepare financial reports.

May assist in identifying funding resources and developing fund-raising strategies and initiatives.

Prepares operational and statistical reports.

Conducts training, represents the program at meetings and conferences, and networks with affiliated groups.

May supervise assigned project staff, interns and/or volunteers.

Performs related responsibilities as required.

ADDITIONAL JOB DETAILS:The Food Fortification Initiative (FFI) champions effective grain fortification so people have the nutrition they need to be smarter, stronger, and healthier. FFI helps country leaders plan, implement, and monitor large-scale fortification of the world's most commonly consumed grains: wheat flour, maize flour, and rice. Established in 2002, FFI is a public, private, and civic partnership based at Emory University’s Rollins School of Public Health.Administrative SupportActs as a primary liaison between Emory University and the Food Fortification Initiative.

Ensures activities comply with Emory policies and procedures.

Provides administrative support in the following general operations areas:

Schedules meetings and handles logistics for meetings and special events. This includes FFI’s biannual Executive Management Team (EMT) meetings.

Prepares materials for meetings and special events.

Initiates, processes, and maintains financial records and invoices.

Maintains databases and spreadsheets related to the budget; may also analyze data and design/generate associated financial reports.

Keeps FFI management apprised of account status, identifies cost-effective solutions, and expedites authorization of expenditures.

Meets regularly with Emory University to reconcile expenses and ensure allocations are appropriate.

Monitors or maintains budgets and grants, assists with budget development, and prepares related expense reports and reimbursements.

Plans and coordinates travel arrangements.

Establishes and organizes filing systems—both physical and electronic.

Oversees ordering and maintenance of office supplies.

May supervise or direct the work of students.

Performs related responsibilities as required.

Fundraising SupportAssists in identifying funding resources and developing fund-raising strategies in collaboration with FFI management.

Provides administrative support in the following fundraising areas:

Writing of grant applications, in collaboration with FFI management, and submission of grant applicationsPre- and post-award compliance and reporting including any correspondence with donors that is associated with each award.

Coordination with FFI and Emory University in the submission, receipt, and reporting of all awarded grants or donations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree in a field related to the program and two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Superior data, analytic, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Exceptional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

Experience with program operations and leadership.

Work experience in domestic and/or global programs.

Exceptional software skills (e.g., PowerPoint, Excel, Zoom, and Adobe Acrobat).

Ability to coordinate and facilitate meetings.

Experience managing and executing concurrent tasks.

Commitment to personal and professional growth.

Basic knowledge of Emory University’s administrative systems.
