They work as part of a multi-disciplinary treatment team and provide feedback on residents' progress and participation in activities. The role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other team members to provide a holistic approach to treatment.Key Responsibilities
Provides therapeutic recreation activities to residents, assesses theirneeds,and develops individualized plans accordingly.
Leads group programming to improve physical, mental, and psycho-social well-being of residents.
Participates as a member of the treatment team and provides input on residents' participation in recreational activities.
Maintains documentation of resident progress and follows established performance standards.
Coordinates scheduling and manages referrals for assigned therapeutic recreation groups and activities.
Qualifications & RequirementsEducation
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Bachelor's degree in recreational therapy, recreation administration, or a related field highly desirable
Experience
Demonstrated experience as a recreational provider required.
Knowledge of the principles and practices of recreational and therapeutic activity programs.
